One of my university projects involved collaborating with several peers to create a comic where the story was told through design rather than words. Although I initially pitched my own concept, the group ultimately decided on a story about an Eskimo boy waiting for a friend in the vast, lonely Arctic.

For my panel, I focused on capturing the passage of time and the quiet grief of waiting. Through the positioning of the boy’s body and the changing weather around him, I beautifully conveyed his eager anticipation and the emotional weight of his solitude.

Using muted colours, I ensured my panel visually aligned with my collaborators’ work while still making the scene striking and emotive. The final result was a powerful comic that combined both design and storytelling to convey a deeply emotional narrative.
