As part of a 3D Computer Animation module, Chloe (Director) was tasked with writing and illustrating a children’s story that used visual storytelling to engage a young audience and clearly communicate a moral message.

The story follows a small mouse often told she’s “too fragile” to help her larger family. Determined to prove herself, she sets out to collect berries perched high on a bush. After mimicking other animals such as headbutting like a rabbit, flapping like a crow, when she eventually climbs like a squirrel and succeeds through her own perseverance. The message: do your best and you will succeed.

Chloe wrote the full narrative and created the illustrations using Adobe Photoshop and Procreate. Bright colours and textured brushes were used to capture the mouse’s world and emphasise her small scale within each scene, helping younger readers connect visually with the theme.
